Meanwhile back home, the deadly disease is now rampant. Every one is now infected. The followers of Alex, as usual, are now setting out tents in which Alex visits and cures people that have been infected by this deadly disease.
It took them two weeks before they got back home. On reaching home, they saw that everything had changed. The atmosphere looked dark in the afternoon, the buildings looked shabby and the streets were deserted. It was as if there were more than one million demons dwelling in the city. They looked around to see if they could at least see one person.
Suddenly they saw a man walking towards their direction, all covered up with a long black robe. His eyes looked red and swollen. As he walked past them, Martins tapped him to ask him a few questions.
“Excuse me!….Excuse me!” he said.
But the strange looking man ignored him. As Martins turned to his colleagues, he saw the day’s newspaper behind Williams' left leg.
He picked it up and the headlines read;
“Where is God?”
They read the papers and they learned that the entire city was now rampant with that deadly disease. Martins told his colleagues to meet him at the lab in two hours while he checked on his family. He met his front door open with no one at the living-room.
“Honey!….I am home!” he said.
No one answered. He shut his front door and began walking up the stairs to check his room. He opened his bedroom door and he saw Kate with Mary. They had covered themselves in a long-thick white cloth.
“Honey!….what’s!….what’s!!…..going on!?” he asked.
“We’ve….been infected by a strange disease. No one knows the remedy to it.” she said with a trembling voice and tears dropping down her eyes.
“Oh! My goodness……please get up. Let’s go to Alex's church so you can be healed.”
“Never!!!” Kate screamed.
“Why?…do you like it this way!?”
“That…that man is evil. You have to accept him as your god before you get healed.”
“I rather die like this, than bow to that man."
“This….this is strange.” Martins said.
“Martins, could you do me a favor?”
“Anything!….anything!! my dear.”
“Go stay with your friends till we get a solution to all this. We don’t want you to get infected.”
“But….I can’t leave you like this.”
